1. Coconut Oil

Saturated fatty acids in coconut oil are the element that helps to soothe the skin. As there are no related side effects, coconut oil becomes a go-to substance even for sensitive skin. Coconut can be directly applied to the skin without the use of any other agents. 

2. Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum jelly is a type of mineral oil which easily helps in reducing the irritation and dryness of the skin. Abrasive household products are one of the reasons for having irritable or dry skin. Slathering petroleum jelly over sensitive skin areas helps in creating a barrier over the skin which protects it from abrasive chemical irritants. Petroleum jelly is easily available and, is an inexpensive and the safest option for treating dry skin.

3. Oatmeal Bath

Oatmeal bath is a very common treatment for dry skin; it is one of the most tried and tested versions for dry skin irritation. Oatmeal baths have antioxidant properties and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps relieve the constant itching which is part of the dry skin. Adding the ground oatmeal into lukewarm water and letting the oatmeal soak for 15 minutes and then pour it over the body will help in reducing the itching caused by dry skin.

Make sure you get the natural form of aloe vera. Apply it over the affected area and leave it out for 15 minutes. Rinse after. Follow it up with a moisturiser. 

10. Adjust shower temperatures

Frequent baths in hot water can rip off the moisture from the skin. There are soaps which remove the moisture from the skin and make it extremely dry and prone to cracked and peeled skin. A simple step like changing showers from hot to cold and changing the soap can bring out extreme changes in how it affects your skin.
